Geosolv is a data capture and modeling company specializing in fiber network design. We
leverage advanced GIS-based solutions to optimize network planning and infrastructure
projects. As we expand, we are seeking a GIS Data Manager to oversee the organization,
integrity, and optimization of geospatial data for our fiber network projects.

Position Overview

The GIS Data Manager will be responsible for managing spatial datasets, ensuring data
quality, and integrating GIS workflows into fiber network planning and design processes.
This role requires expertise in GIS software, database management, and spatial data
analysis, with a focus on telecom and fiber infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
• Data Management: Maintain, update, and organize GIS datasets related to fiber
network infrastructure.
• Quality Control: Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of GIS data
used in network design.
• GIS Analysis: Conduct spatial analysis, data validation, and reporting for fiber
design and engineering teams.
• Integration & Automation: Develop workflows for data integration between GIS
tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Vetro FiberMap) and project management systems.
• Collaboration: Work closely with fiber designers, engineers, and project managers
to align GIS data with project requirements.
• Mapping & Visualization: Create high-quality maps, dashboards, and
visualizations for internal and client use.
• Data Governance: Establish and enforce standards for data entry, formatting, and storage.

  • Required Qualifications
    5+ years of GIS experience in telecom, fiber, or utility industries
    Expertise in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and Vetro FiberMap
    Experience managing large geospatial databases (PostGIS, SQL, or similar)
    Understanding of fiber network design and permitting requirements
    Proficiency in Python, SQL, or ModelBuilder for GIS automation
    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating GIS with project management or CAD tools
  • Familiarity with fiber network architecture (FTTx, GPON, FlexNAP, etc.)
    Experience with ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, or other cloud GIS platforms
    Knowledge of REST APIs for GIS data exchange
